MESSAGE FROM OUR LOCAL UMW
PRESIDENT:

UMW November 2011 News As our year in UMW winds down I am reflecting on the
year. It was a year of giving. Giving ourselves; giving to others; giving
our resources, our time and talents.
The ladies in our UMW at Our next meeting is December 7, at I encourage you to become involved in one of our five circles or the Unit meeting, as it will be a blessing to you and to the ones you fellowship with. Each Circle takes a turn at Home-Delivered Meals and taking the altar flowers to someone each Sunday. Each Circle has Golden Circle Members who cannot attend the meetings, but they keep in touch with visits, cards, and prayer. Members at Large: UMW has 28 Members at Large, who support UMW with their pledge but are not circle members. This is open to anyone. Laughing is Good: Edith Noll and Clarice Shemwell: This is open to anyone to share a lunch and
a laugh. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday at Lunch Bunch:
Chairman: Jenice
Taggart: This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday at Quilters: Kay Brann and Ruth Doering; The Quilters
have been meeting for some time and have quilted many lovely quilts for the
Festival of Sharing. They welcome
anyone who would like to attend. They meet in room 357 each Tuesday between Project Patricia: One of our ongoing projects is Project Patricia that makes protective washable feminine pads in sets of 5 that are sent to the third world countries. This enables the girls to continue going to school. The Soup Bank was started and is serviced by Lunch Bunch. It provides soup for outreach to anyone in the church. The containers of soup are kept in the Parlor Kitchen freezer. If you know of someone that needs a pick-me-up or visit, take them some soup and a small loaf of bread. Upcoming Events: December 4 at Unit Meeting: Dec. 7 at Dec. 13 and 14 is our church ‘Call to Prayer’ that our
Church Council invited Sue Martin and me to lead. If you can come to pray on
Tuesday at May your December by filled with love, joy and hope! Juanita Rampy President, FUMC UMW
